Stacy Mark, Mixed Media Painter
"I paint enigmatic, adventuresome, freestyle landscapes. My paintings are built upon memories that I've enjoyed with nature, and I give each one a breath of life with nuances of my imagination."
Influenced by Wabi-Sabi, a Japanese Philosophy which states that aging makes everything more beautiful, Stacy's work is meant to look aged and timeless. Each painting has numerous layers of paint, between 20-50 on average, which are applied and eroded numerous times on top of each other to create the final effect. Finished paintings have an appearance that is a blurred line between painterly and organic.
Stacy’s materials of choice are acrylic paints and mediums by Golden Artist Colors and archival hardboard panels from Ampersand.
